Hundreds of websites are being shut down in America. These include defense and intelligence departments; what is Trump’s strategy now? American websites have been shut down. These include the humanitarian agency USAID ( The United States Agency for International Development), which is being shut down by President Donald Trump’s administration. Out of some 1,400 federal sites the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) offered, more than 350 have been shut down as of Monday afternoon. Investigations are underway into why this has been done.

Musk announced the shutdown of USSAID (The United States Agency for International Development)

USAID’s website went offline on Monday after employees received an email instructing them not to report to their offices. According to US media reports, several government websites, including major public health agencies, have eliminated mentions of LGBTQ individuals following a directive from Trump last week.

Donald Trump had already issued the order.

Hundreds of federal websites across the US have been taken down during a period when the Trump administration is trying to streamline government spending. The Department of Government Efficiency headed by Elon Musk has always been working towards curbing government spending. In such a scenario, many sites are likely to be closed to reduce the overhead. The website of USAID is also down and the staff has been sent an email message not to come to the headquarters. The Department of Diversity and Inclusion is also closed down by the Trump administration.

Disappearance of LGBTQ references

US media reports state that references to LGBTQ issues have been deleted from some of the key government websites. The step was taken days after the president ordered all the taxpayer-funded programs for support on the “gender ideology” to be removed.
Health data critical to the country have gone missing from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website. Data on HIV and LGBTQ youth are no longer available, which brings health experts together in concern. A release by the American Infectious Diseases Society said the removal of HIV and LGBTQ-related resources from the websites of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other health agencies is very alarming and poses dangerous gaps in scientific information and data for the monitoring and containment of disease outbreaks.

Disappearance of crucial details from government websites.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website has reported that HIV and LGBTQ pages display the following: “The page you were looking for was not found.” There is alarm, especially in the medical experts’ and the scientific community, that this kind of information, in its absence, would compromise its use against the public health issues.
